Miss Pennsylvania's Outstanding Teen Kaitlyn Miller
Kaitlyn Miller, a Swoyersville, PA native, won the Miss Pennsylvania's Outstanding Teen title in May 2012 having competed as Miss MidState's Outstanding Teen. She is a senior at Wyoming Valley West High School in Northeastern Pennsylvania's Luzerne County
During her year of service she is raising awareness and encouraging acceptance of amputees by trumpeting their inspirational stories, and by being a beacon of hope for people facing tough circumstances. Through her program, “Kaitlyn’s Walking on Sunshine: Amputee Awareness,” she provides support for individuals and families who are dealing with life-altering changes; and, she is also working in collaboration with the Children’s Miracle Network on behalf of the many CMN children who are amputees. Kaitlyn is also a champion for “Children’s Grief Awareness Day,” to support children who have lost a loved one to death.
An award-winning competitive dancer since the age of two, she dazzles audiences everywhere when she performs with her show-stopping footwork. In addition to her accomplishments on stage, she is also a leader in her school and community and has been recognized with a variety of awards for her academic and service achievements.
