Whats it Mean ?

  • StayStrongx3, it's sometimes hard for teens to understand what is going on within their body development. It's great you want to explore what is happening with your situation.
  • First, it might be a good idea to see your family doctor to eliminate any medical reasons you might not be gaining weight. The doctor can also advise you whether or not you are truly under a healthy weight. You can also learn about good nutrition and the best healthy foods to eat.
  • Being healthy should be your goal. Everyone's metabolism (the rate at which a person's body burns calories)is different. So, it's possible just as someone who is overweight has difficulty losing weight due to a slower metabolism, you may have a faster metabolism.
  • Be sure to check out our weight awareness section, here on TeenCentral.net for some valuable information that may help you.
  • Instead of focusing on your shortcomings, start thinking about positive aspects of yourself that outweigh them. When you catch yourself being too critical, instead say something positive about yourself. Each day, write down three things about yourself that make you happy.
What the experts say.
