Today my friend told me that she got drunk last night. She has told me in the past (a few weeks ago) that she is bipolar and an ex-alcoholic. We are only freshmen in high school. I am so worried about her but I do not know what to do.

Whats it Mean ?

  • justme23, you have little control over someone else's actions, but you can offer them support during their time of struggle.
  • Please consider having a conversation with your friend about how you are concerned about her behaviors. By doing such you can offer her support for her, and show her that you care for her.
  • The fact that you notice that there is something wrong is an important trait of being a good friend! Please remember that you are trying to help your friend and not doing something bad.
  • It may be helpful for you to look at organizations that could offer your friend better support than you can provide, so then when you offer help to her you will be prepared to give her the right information.
  • Please remember that if your friend escalates to the point that she may be harming herself or others, that you have the right to inform others, so that your friend and others can be safe.
