Everything is going wrong at home. My sister got in major trouble and now everyone is fighting. It is like all hell broke loose over here. And whose stuck in the middle? Me. I have to try and do school work, and now I have to make my own breakfast, lunch and dinner because my mom has stopped cooking and my step-dad only makes food for himself now. So in am stuck trying to cope with all of this, missing my great grandparents severely, stressed to the point of crying breakdowns about school, and having to deal with everyone yelling and swearing every five minutes. My mom is always crying and is either always at work or in her room 'Facebooking,' my big sister is grounded and does not want me around, and well my step-dad is just a big jerk and I never want to talk to him. I can not talk to a school counselor because I am home schooled. And I can not spend time with my friends because my parents are overprotective. I just do not know what to do anymore, I am completely lost and I have constant migraines and I cry so much lately. Everything is just so overwhelming and it is hitting me like a giant tidal wave.

- futurzoovet, though you have very little control over others, you still have the power to make an effort to make your environment better and support your future.
- Though it may seem difficult, it may be helpful to talk with your parents, in a mature manner, how the family situation is truly affecting you. By doing such, your family can work together to resolve some of the issues it may be having and hopefully provide a better home life for you.
- It might be helpful to find a place where you could go that would allow you to distance yourself from the troubles of your home, and allow you to become less stressed. This place can be either a quiet place for you to study or going to a place that you find joy in or can do something that makes you happy.
- Please consider looking within your community for opportunities for you to seek a support group or person to talk to. Since you can not use a school counselor, looking in your community for help is the next step.
- During times of stress, sadness, and struggles, it may be helpful to remember about the things you have accomplished thus far and what you look to accomplish in the future. You have made it this far in life, and the challenges that present themselves is just an opportunity for you to learn more about yourself and gain new skills.
