Stuff Going On

LIL AnGeL, 15

I've been very good friends with this boy for some time now. We've just recently started dating and we've gotten caught by my parents and I got caught with my friends. We went out and were drinking and smoking. My parents confronted all the parents of my friends and my boyfriend. Well, now I don't know if he's my boyfriend anymore. Since then neither my friends nor my boyfriend have had contact with me. I do not know what to do. When I go back to school, what's going to happen with my friends or my boyfriend? When my parents saw his parents they all agreed that we would stay away from each other; but I really like him and I am so confused on what to do with my friends and my boyfriend. I don't know if my friends are going to remain my friends or if my boyfriend still wants this relationship. I'm so confused and do not know what to do. Please help me!!!

Whats it Mean ?

  • LIL AnGel, your whole life probably feels like it got turned upside down. One day you're out with all your friends and boyfriend, and now you have no contact with them.
  • Your parents really care about all of you; so they figure it's probably best to keep you separated if you all cannot act responsibly when you are together.
  • The thing to do now is accept what happened. You made a choice, and now you are paying the consequences of that decision. It's okay... we've all made mistakes.
  • Allow some time for this to blow over. Make the decision to behave differently when you are out with any of your friends. Let your parents see you act responsibly again. Self-monitor all your actions. See if you are making the best decision for yourself. Your safety and well-being is of the utmost importance.
  • After some time passes, have a conversation with your parents again about what happened. When your actions show that you've learned a lesson, and they can see you're making changes, they may let go of the restriction they put on you and your friends.
  • Hopefully your friends will do the same thing.
  • Things will be a little awkward for a bit for all of you. You're all in the same boat. Just let things be for now. It'll get better in time.
