I'm a 16 year old and I'm bisexual. Only a couple of my friends know I'm bisexual. I'm afraid to tell my parents. I don't know what to tell them or, how they will react. Please help!

- skylergay16, you can find the confidence to face your fears head on. Rest assured many other teens know how you're feeling right now.
- Call a family meeting. Pick a date and time that is convenient for you and your parents.
- Set the tone. Choose a location that is most comfortable for you so that you and your parents can openly and honestly express your feelings appropriately.
- Be prepared for questions. Write out possible questions and answers. They will probably want to know when, what, where, how and why. If you come prepared, this will take less stress off you.
- Have emotional support. Ask a friend who already knows you are bisexual to be on standby. Call him/her immediately if you begin to feel scared. This is an important step in your life and you will need someone who will uplift you through positive encouragement.
