I want to know if this is wrong. I hate my family; my father is trying to rule my life by what specific collage and job I have to get. He wants me to move back and be with him. I hate him so much I just can’t stand it. I hate the way he walks and breaths. I feel like I’m going to die or explode. I want to leave this town as soon as possible. When I turn eighteen I’m planning to enlist in the military or move away. However, I don’t want my family to know where I am. I promised myself I wouldn't tell them ever. so one day, I’m just going to leave and not tell them where I am because I have to live my own life the way I feel and I just can’t stand looking or living with them much longer. Is this wrong?

Whats it Mean ?

  • Sendmehope97, your feelings are not wrong at all. You might be feeling pressure from your father to be what he wants you to be. It is natural to feel angry with your parents when you want to have more freedom.
  • Try looking up the colleges and jobs your father is recommending you apply for. Sometimes a parent might have a good idea about their child's talents. Try looking up the classes available in the desired job you might want to have one day. Consider talking to college or career counselor about what you would like to study. Perhaps they could recommend certain colleges for your particular career path.
  • Consider talking to your parents about how you are feeling. Some parents who want the best for their child might try to rule their child's decisions to protect them from failure. Try explaining what you would like to do with your life. If they still try to rule you, try not to worry about it. Once you are eighteen, you will be a legal adult.
  • Try doing as much research on your dream job. Make sure you are aware of all of the requirements to enlist in the military. There are many sections of the military and various jobs involved. If there is a particular college you want to go to, consider finding the materials you need to apply. Consider looking into financial aid or any financial help you could get for your schooling.
