Well let me start off by saying I'm 17 years old. I live with my dad. It's rough living here. Even the rest of my family is worried about me. Child Protection Services was called last year after my dad beat the heck out of me. I still wake up screaming from the nightmares.

- andy2354, it is okay to feel the way that you do. Millions of teens are traumatized, but that doesn't mean that you can't get out of it.
- You can start off by talking to a family member that you trust and knows what you are going through. It might help you feel safer if you moved in with someone that you know wouldn't hurt you.
- Also, you are almost an adult. If you feel that you are responsible enough and have what it takes to get emancipated then you can talk to someone about doing that. Make sure you have proof of being able to take care of yourself.
- Child Protection Services is always here to protect you. Sometime the best thing you can do is contact them. It might be better for you to be in their hands than fear the next day your father might abuse you again.
